Under the sea
On Stampotique Designers Challenge Arwen is the hostess this week and she wants to see how our underwater world looks like.
SDC 162 is Under The Sea
I made a background with blue bistre.
After stamping I covered a -slightly oversized -grungeboard crown with perfect pearls and put some dots with glossy accents on it.
From the moment I was working on the crown I had this song on my mind :
"I am a queen for tonight, but will I have a king tomorrow?" (Helen Shapiro).

A little touch of Tim
On a Vintage Journey challenge 13 is to use Tim's products an/or inspiration to create atc's.
I started to create a background with Distress Paint Broken China and Distress Stain Antiqued Bronze.
Spritzed water and dried with heattool.
Then cut the paper in 3 pieces a tiny bit smaller than atc's because I wanted to mount them on Kraft cardstock.
Put some tissue paper on, distressed the edges and darkened them.
Sponged ink over honeycomb stencil. When dry, put some Vintage Photo ink and Distress Embossingpowder on various places and heatembossed.
Assembled bits and pieces (salvage stickers, distressables, chit-chat, filmstrip, tiny paperclips etc ) and made a collage.

Living your dream
Made for Lost Coast August Challenge : Use words and/or letters.
I used Distress paint & stains for the background, then sponged with Adirondack Stream.
Unfortunately the camera doesn't pick up that last colour, it is more intense than on the photo.
At the bottom I poured some Glossy Accents.

Water
I had planned - a while ago - to try and participate in a weekly zentangle challenge.
But life got in the way.
Finally this week I tried to tangle on the 'water' themed challenge.

Tim's tags of 2014 - February
Here you can find Tim's tag of February.
I didn't have white chalk, so I used the lightest color I had, pale yellow.
How fun to try out this technique!

Starry starry night
A new Stampotique Designers Challenge !
SDC 160: Music as Inspiration.
I made a background as in Tim's 12 Tags 2014 - June.
Used a star stencil and various blue, grey & black Distress Inks.
Put ink directly from the pad on the back of the stencil, spritzed water on it and put the stencil on white watercolor paper. With a tissue pressed the ink on the paper, then dried with a heatgun.
Stamped Vincent on paper and cut out, inked the sides of the stamped image.
Lyrics on dymo tape.

Tim's 12 tags of 2014 - July
Here you can find Tim's July tag.
I love using the distress paint, stains and ink together and watch them react to eachother.
And that distress embossingpowder on the wet paint give the gungeboard that gritty texture Tim mentiones.
Also made the faux sand, that gives really an extra dimension to the tag.
Hopefully it doesn't fall off.
Anyway, here is my tag for July:

Tim's 12 tags of 2014 - August
Here you can find Tim's August Tag.
First month this year I could find time to try one of Tim's wonderful inspirational tags he creates every month.Maybe I will try the tags of the previous months later on this year.
I tried to follow his tutorial for the background, love the step-by-step directions!
Although I did use Archival ink for stamping, it took quite a while before the ink dried on the tissue tape.
Don't have texture paste, so I used white gesso, but that resists the distress stains so it stays white.
Stamps used are from Viva Las Vegas.

Het hoeft dan niet perse een kaart te zijn die voor een kind
bedoeld is.

Foliage
For challenge 184 Foliage (one layer time ) on Less is More.
I used a few red bistre grains for background.
